Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ongoing support/troubleshooting of a highly available enterprise infrastructure, in a 24x7 environment
  • Daily operational hands-on network duties working with switching, TCP/IP, OSPF, HSRP, wireless, and load balancing
  • Document the current and future network architecture and technology
  • Implement and Maintain Existing & future Data Center Networks
  • Implement network technology, process, and security standards
  • Develop, monitor, and report the appropriate metrics to measure network performance and availability and to identify necessary improvements
  • Evaluate current network infrastructure and identify technologies and manage projects designed to improve security, scalability and reliability of the overall environment
  • Negotiate purchase of new network hardware, software, and services
  • Manage, ensure PCI and SOX compliance, and ensure continued compliance with regulatory requirements, best practices, and policies and procedures
  • Manage network vendor relations ensuring selected vendors are providing optimal service and cost
  • Plan and manage multiple network infrastructure projects
  • Ensure the Infrastructure team has the appropriate information and skills to successfully administer and support the network environment

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 5-6 years in IT as a Network Engineer or an equivalent position
  • Advanced networking and / or security certifications
  • Proven background and experience in designing, monitoring and troubleshooting enterprise wide area networks
  • Expert knowledge of routers and firewalls from major vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, Netscreen
  • Experience with routing and switching VLANs, tunneling, spanning tree, trunking, and MPLS
  • Experience with IPSEC and other VPN and related technologies
  • Experience with SNMP tools, monitoring design, network analysis and metric reporting to establish bandwidth usage forecasting and network availability
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and effective troubleshooting methods including:
    • Layer 1 (copper cabling issues/ fiber signal strength)
    • Layer 2 (spanning tree, vlan tagging, mac address tracing)
    • Layer 3 (routing issues, OSPF, BGP redistribution and attribute studying, prefix length issues)
    • Layer 4 (firewall issues)
  • Architecture and Design
    • Router/switch security
    • Proven experience in best practice design and implementation
    • Load balancing traffic and engineering for automatic failover
    • Visio design/diagramming skills
  • Results driven, ability to initiate and lead multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously; with a great attention to detail, operates with urgency, focus and discipline
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally

Project Manager (Norway)

We are looking for experienced project managers to engage in current and new engagements in Norway. You will be responsible for organizing, tracking, and delivering IT development projects. You will be working in global delivery teams from China and U.S., in close collaboration with the Customer, keeping your eyes firmly on economical and technical objectives and deadlines. You build the main bridge between the Customer and the development team knowing how to negotiate and write requirement specifications and being able to motivate a team of IAM professionals. Tight contact with the customer is the basis for coordination and quick reactions to new and changed situations.

Key Responsibilities and duties

  • Managing entire projects based on a global delivery team
  • Coach the team members in the art of professional services
  • Getting and setting the right customer expectations
  • Identifying best opportunities to fulfill the requirements
  • Monitoring the progress of the project to keep deadlines
  • Creating project presentations and reports for the customer and the management team
  • Participating in sales activities together with the STTG management team

Required Qualifications

  • Education: You should hold a degree in Computer Science or Engineering, but work experience is more important than formal degrees
  • Competency: You must be a skilled project manager with relevant experience from medium/large IT implementation projects. You must have broad knowledge of IT, ideally within IT Security and Identity and Access Management.
  • Experience: 5+ years of software project management experience, including presenting and negotiating at management level as well as team leadership.

Personal Profile

You must be motivated by business development, and truly being able to affect the direction of a company experiencing rapid growth. There will be extensive collaboration across borders and cultures. Hence, you must be fluent in English both spoken and written, and be passionate about learning more about new cultures. Also, you must be relatively flexible in terms of working hours as the team is stretched across time zones.

Eligibility

Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for participation in the STTG Internship Program. Applicants must be full-time students at an accredited four- or five-year college or university.

Candidates under consideration for an internship will need to demonstrate a high level of academic achievement. They must also have relevant academic, work or research experience, and be able to demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and teaming skills. Finally, a high evaluation during STTG's interview process is also required.
